PhD in his pocket and off he went: Flurin finally fulfilled his long-held dream. Riding our Eero, he set off southbound. Within just four days, he traveled from his hometown of Basel to Mondragón in northern Spain. From there, he took things a little “slower” and reached Western Sahara after only four weeks.
On October 8, 2025, Flurin began his adventure. What followed were more than three months filled with challenges, meaningful encounters, and unforgettable moments in nature. On January 22, 2026, his journey came to an end: rich in experiences, images, and stories.
“I wanted to photograph wildlife and landscapes in Morocco in the most sustainable way possible and explore unknown countries and cultures by bike.”

Total bike & luggage weight: 41 kg
His luggage alone weighed over 32 kg: a true endurance test for both rider and equipment.
Flurin wanted to capture landscapes, wildlife, and moods as authentically as possible. That meant bringing his professional camera equipment along—including telephoto lenses and a tripod.
With his ARC8 Eero, he transported all his gear through mountains, deserts, and remote villages.
In doing so, he combined his two great passions: Long-distance cycling and nature and wildlife photography into one unique adventure.
Between the Atlas Mountains, endless desert landscapes, and small villages, Flurin collected countless impressions: hospitality, cultural diversity, silence beneath star-filled skies, moments of complete exhaustion.
This journey was shaped by contrasts: heat and cold, solitude and connection, physical limits and mental strength.
Over more than 10,000 kilometers, his Eero proved its strengths:
Stability under heavy loads
Comfort on long stages
Reliability in extreme conditions
Flurin’s journey to Morocco was not a typical bikepacking trip. It was a personal project, a photographic mission, and a tribute to slow, mindful travel.
107 days.
10,522 kilometers.
Tens of thousands of photos.
Countless memories.
We’re proud to be part of this story, and we’re looking forward to seeing more of Flurin’s impressions and photographs.
